Coast Juniors Finish the Year as Golfing Masters

THREE Fraser Coast junior golfers have finished the year with some pretty impressive on course performances.

The Maryborough Golf Club duo of Kate Law and Brayden Best together with Hervey Bay Golf Club member Connor Reeves all gave it their best shot during the prestigious Greg Norman Junior Masters at the Coolangatta Tweed Heads Golf Club.

All three teed off in the 13 years and under division and all finished inside the top 15 of the annual invitation only tournament.

Law, who like Reeves, was a member of the Queensland team that won the under 12 team title in the Australian School Sport National Golf Championships in Melbourne last month, finished seventh overall in the girls division.

She carded rounds of 91, 84, 87 and 86 in a division contested by 28 players.

Law said she was pleased with her result.

"It was a lot better than last year when I missed the cut after three rounds," Law, who now plays off a handicap of 11 after starting the year on 17, said. …
