IT'S raining, it's the holidays - it's movie time.

Birch Carroll and Coyle seemed to be the best place to find sanctuary yesterday as the wet weather continued to relentlessly pound down on Rockhampton.

And for the first Cheap Tuesday after Christmas it seemed to be the idea on everyone's minds with Birch Carroll and Coyle crammed full of movie-goers who were queuing up for a ticket to catch all the latest blockbuster movies hitting the screens.

But although yesterday was their busiest day yet, the entire week has seen the cinema jammed with movie buffs retreating from the rain.

Standing eagerly at the front of the line on Monday with seven other family members and friends was mother and son, Karen and Shaun Joans.

The gang skipped the ticket queue, which snaked its way back to the other side of the room, and waited with their munchies to see Old Dogs.

"I didn't expect it to be this busy, we got a car park easy and I was shocked when we came in here - I am glad I bought my tickets online," Karen said. …
