Our Human Nature Kicks in with Generation Infighting

THEY say we Generation Y members are an impatient bunch, but we weren't the ones who skipped 23 letters when naming Generation X.

Three generations later and we've already run out of letters, so we've taken one more thing from the Greeks and named the babies born in 2010-onwards "Generation Alpha".

I guess "Generation Now I Know My ABC's, Won't You Come and Play With Me" isn't really the next logical step.

The best thing about each new generation is hearing the complaints about them which I'm sure people are doing with Gen Alpha already.

Personally, I think these Gen Alpha are the laziest generation yet as 100 per cent of them already spend most of their time sleeping, crying or sleeping some more.

These slothful loungeabouts have already cost families and society plenty of money without giving anything back to the community (looking really cute doesn't count).

My first thought on reading about Generation Alpha was along the lines of "wait ... we had a Generation Z already?"

Turns out, 1995-2009 was home to Generation Z, a generation whose claim to fame was being on the internet a lot, buying any technological device starting with a lower-case "i" and not much else.

Even though they've managed to do absolutely nothing of any significance (to be fair, they're all under 15), you can still bet that I'll hate them in a few years.

Why? Just like Baby Boomers complained about the Generation Xs before me and Generation X complained about Generation Y, it's human nature to detest the generation under you.

I can't wait until I'm old enough to start saying things like "kids have it too easy", "today's kids have to have their hand held through everything" and "back in my day, we didn't even have personal jetpacks".

Seriously, if I have to hear one more thing about how my generation are lazy, self-absorbed, internet-obsessed princesses with no motivation, then . …
