PETER LOVENKRANDS believes the onus is on Newcastle United's frontline to come good in tonight's FA Cup third-round replay with Plymouth Argyle.

Lovenkrands says that United had "everything but the goal" at Home Park and hopes to address the situation this evening at St James'.

The Danish international is in contention to start the tie and knows that United's luck in front of goal is due to change after almost 250 goalless minutes since Shola Ameobi netted at Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day. Lovenkrands told the Chronicle: "Defensively we stood up very well at Plymouth and that was pleasing.

"We needed just one goal to take us through, but that didn't come unfortunately.

"We know that can change very quickly and you tend to get goals in abundance - once one comes, more follow.

"Overall down there it was a good performance and we had everything but the goal."

United almost found a way past Plymouth's resilient defence when Nicky Butt cracked the bar in Devon. …
