Krul Ready to Keep His Cool; Tim Focused on Fourth-Round Spot

TIM KRUL is relishing tonight's FA Cup replay with Plymouth Argyle as he bids to keep his own season alive by progressing to the fourth round.

And should United be still standing in the competition at the end of their replay, Krul can look forward to a return to the scene of one of his finest hours in a Newcastle shirt.

For it was at West Brom, who await the winners of tonight's replay, that he pulled off a string of saves to earn the Magpies a draw back on the opening day of the season when Steve Harper was injured.

Krul was largely untroubled at Home Park, but should this one go the full distance don't be surprised if the young Dutchman ends up putting his hand up to take a spot-kick in a potential shoot-out, for the Hagueborn keeper is an excellent penalty taker. He demonstrated this back in the 2005/06 season when he slotted home against Stoke City to help win an FA Youth Cup tie.

And the super-cool Dutch youth international is clearly up for the game tonight.

He told the Chronicle: "It's nice to have a second game for me.

"We want to finish it, and I'm really confident we will.

"Maybe we'll have some more confidence when we play Plymouth at home, and score some goals - whatever it takes to get through."

Krul is one for the future but also one for today as his performances so far in his fledgling career have shown. …
