Casino Man Learns Alcohol and Bad Temper Don't Mix

MICHAEL FYFE, in a stroppy moment of an alcohol-fuelled temper, punched his arm through a glass door at a Casino hotel after being told to leave.

He was left with a bloodied right hand and was still sitting outside the hotel when police arrived.

But a very repentant Fyfe phoned the publican of the Commercial Hotel the next morning to apologise and organise to repay the damage.

Fyfe, 27, from Kyogle, but now living in Casino, pleaded guilty in Casino Local Court to malicious damage of a Commercial Hotel door at 10.50pm on December 11 last year.

"A silly thing to do," Magistrate Robyn Denes told Fyfe.

"Yes, stupid," replied Fyfe.

"I rang the licensee and apologised and said I would pay for it. I paid for it the following Monday."

Fyfe said after paying for the damage police sent him a $500 fine. …
