Now Blokes Get Botox; Men Rush into Fill Wrinkles in Bid to Look Younger

IPSWICH men are turning to Botox and cosmetic surgery in increasing numbers according to plastic surgeon Dr Hugh Bartholomeusz.

Dr Bartholomeusz said only a few years ago, women where the only patients coming to his Court Street practice for Botox injections.

But he said of the 20 to 30 Botox procedures his clinic performed every fortnight, about one in five were for men - with males also rushing to take up wrinkle fillers and laser treatments.

"I think that's because of two reasons - one is that men have become more accepting of cosmetic treatments, because they are out there more in the media a lot more that ever before," Dr Bartholomeusz said.

"It's more acceptable now for men to look after their skin and put on moisturisers and other creams, which men wouldn't have done years ago.

"I think the second reason is because older men want to look good and young when applying for jobs or to keep their jobs. …
