Trainer Is Confident of a Form Reversal

GREYHOUNDS: Back Page's trainer Gary Thorpe expects his prize dishlicker to return to the winner's circle this weekend after it was held up to finish at the back of the field last Saturday.

The 2009 greyhound of the year will start from box eight in race six of the Sunday timetable and Thorpe is full of confidence.

"It will be very hard to beat from out wide with lots of space," he said.

He predicted Major Billy Blue to be his charge's main competition, but only if Back Page was off the boil.

"If it's at full form no dog will come close, even if Major Billy Blue is a very good dog," Thorpe said.

Earlier this year Bundaberg Greyhound Club president Brian Terry said Back Page had at least four good months in it.

But Thorpe said recent health checks the dog had gave it the all clear for at least another year, if not more. …
