It's too late, of course, to see the real Elvis Presley. But there are several events coming up paying tribute to the King of Rock 'n' Roll.

ULTIMATE ELVIS TRIBUTE ARTISTS TOUR

Four men - Kevin Mills, Leo Days, Bill Cherry and Victor Trevino Jr. - portray Elvis at different stages of his career. They're accompanied by a live band and backup singers and dancers. When: 8 p.m. Friday. Where: Times-Union Center. Tickets: $24-$48 (ticketmaster.com)

ELVIS TRIBUTE ARTIST COMPETITION

Contestants will be judged on vocals, appearance, stage presence and professionalism for a spot in the Images of the King contest scheduled for August. When: 6 p.m. Saturday. Where: Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, Live Oak. Tickets: $25-$40 (teddymacelvis.com)

ELVIS CRUISE

Tribute artists and people who knew and hung out with Elvis will be on hand for a cruise from Jacksonville to the Bahamas. When: Nov. 4-8. Where: Aboard the Carnival Fascination. Tickets: $419-$2,399 (theelviscruise.com)

Jacksonville is where he reportedly first hooked up with manager Col. Tom Parker and where fans first tore his clothes off and chased him to his dressing room. Jacksonville also was the home of Mae Axton, who wrote "Heartbreak Hotel."

THE KING IN JACKSONVILLE

Elvis Presley made eight appearances in Jacksonville, performing 17 shows before an estimated 135,000 fans.

Elvis also visited Jacksonville twice in 1960, just after leaving the Army, when he greeted fans from a train March 24 and 29, 1960.
