A MARRIED couple is being forced out of Cotton Tree Caravan Park after living there for more than four years because park management says atouristsa like them cannot stay permanently at the site.

Bruce and Christine Edwards have been issued with a warrant of possession that allows police to forcibly remove them from the park at 10am on Tuesday.

The warrant was issued by the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal at Maroochydore on January 20 after the couple failed to comply with a notice to leave.

Park management moved to have the couple evicted because the facility is situated on state government-owned reserve land and can only be used for recreational and holiday camping under state government guidelines.

The guidelines came into effect in April 2005, with the couple moving into the park in November that year.

It states that guests can stay only for six months in a calendar year and only for three months at a time.

Park management said it had a agentleman's agreementa with the couple that allowed them to stay so long. …
