Article excerpt

I WOULD love to hear from anyone who went to St Philip's Church or to "Hepple", camping to help on farm (war time), or who took part in shows and went to the dances. Any photos would be good. Betty Elcoate nee Howes, now E Smith. Tel: 0191 262 6692. E SMITH.

I AM trying to trace relatives of a Second World War casualty Private Henry G Hardman killed in action 1/12/1944, aged 23, while serving with the 2nd Btn Cheshire Regiment. Buried in Goirle, Holland, he was the son of Ethel Hardman of Sandyford and husband of Rhoda Hardman. I have a Dutch contact in Holland who would like to include a photo of Henry Hardman in a lasting tribute to those who died in the defence of the people of Goirle. My own father is also buried in the same cemetery.

BARRIE WALTERS Tel: 01702 548692; e-mail balwal@gwalters222.wanadoo.co.uk, 62 Ashingdon Road, Rochford, Essex, SS4 1RE. WOULD anyone with any knowledge of the following, all lost in World War Two, please contact me on 0780 429 7551. …
