'A Devious Lying Burglar' Stolen Items Found in Shop

A BURGLARY victim was shocked to find her stolen gems in a jewellery shop.

When serial raider Darren Davidson broke into a house in Gosforth, Newcastle, he stole various items, including jewellery with a sentimental value worth pounds 14,000.

Davidson, who has committed a staggering 37 burglaries over the years, had sold his illicit haul to a jewellery shop in Newcastle.

And when the woman householder happened to go into the shop she recognised some of the items as her own.

Now Davidson, 34, of Felton Walk, Byker, Newcastle, has been branded a "devious lying burglar" by a judge and locked up for five years.

Davidson had broken into the Gosforth home of a couple in their 50s in June last year.
