SOUTHS will be hoping the rain stays away to give them another chance in the Daily Mercury Twenty20 Shootout at Harrup Park on Sunday.

Souths are precariously placed in fourth position, and a loss against Norths or a washout would end their T20 season in first grade.

For Norths it's a chance to regain top spot in the competition, which they also hold in the Poole Cup.

In Souths' favour, the Devils lost their last match in this competition, to Brothers, and will field an under-strength team this weekend, with many players away watching the one-day cricket in Brisbane.

The reserve grade match between the two teams looks like being a blinder, with the minor premiership up for grabs.
