GLENDEN police Senior Constable Brenton O'Brien was the first officer on the scene at the Glenden fatality at the weekend.

Snr Const O'Brien praised the efforts of all those who were at the scene, including truck driver Dave McNeil, who helped pull two men out of the burning truck.

He said others, including emergency services, helped recover victims from the crash.

"I was the first officer on the scene and Mr McNeil was not the only one to help the occupants out of the truck."

On Saturday a 39-year-old Pioneer Valley man was killed in the high-impact crash. It is believed a station wagon and truck collided head-on after the wagon clipped another vehicle heading south from Glenden.

After the collision, the truck veered off the road and rolled into a ditch where it caught alight.

Snr Const O'Brien said the driver of the third vehicle involved in the crash also stopped to help. …
