SINCE The Observer last spoke to Ben Windsor over a year ago, he has come full circle.

The 14-year-old Gladstone State High School student has fluid on the brain which causes severe pressure on the skull.

Last year Ben travelled to Sydney to receive a sub-temporal skull decompression and his life has been changed ever since.

He can now do things that he never thought he would be able to. He got the chance to go jet-skiing and go-karting in Brisbane and visit some of the theme parks.

The operation released pressure from his brain, and though he still has constant headaches and feels sick all the time, he is finally having the life he always should have had.

"I like to hang out with mates, ride my bike when I get the chance and play a little bit of cricket," Ben said.

Ben's mum Kelleen Windsor said his school was "unreal" for what they had done for him and while she worried about everything, he was doing much better. …
