TRUCKS are the red blood cells of our nation; on every Australian road, in every city and town, trucks deliver the staples of life.

While it may be an industry that many of us take for granted, or even openly criticise, many contemporary heavy vehicle and haulage operators would like the community to understand that much has changed over the years, and that the trucking industry of today is both a professional and vitally important industry, sharing concerns about road safety with the community at large.

This week, the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) is inviting truck operators and the community to get involved in the first ever Truck Week.

In Grafton, Robert Blanchard, CEO of Herb Blanchard Haulage said that one of the key aims of Truck Week is to promote the importance of the trucking industry to Australia.
