BLYTH SPARTANS are hoping it is a case of fourth time lucky when they take on play-off hopefuls AFC Telford United at Croft Park tomorrow. The Spartans drew 1-1 at Telford on the opening day of the season but lost an FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay 4-0 at the New Bucks Head after a goalless draw at Blyth.

Mick Tait's side are keen to return to action after two postponements, while seventhplaced Telford are looking to bounce back from a midweek defeat at Northwich.

Before that the Bucks, beaten play-off finalists last year, had taken 13 points from 15 and are just a point off the play-offs.

The Shropshire outfit are either hot or cold away from home, winning seven and losing eight, and no top-half side has lost more games on their travels.

Blyth are likely to recall the fitagain Mark Bell in goal, though Darren Craddock is struggling to replace the suspended Stephen Harrison at right-back due to a foot injury. Tait may attempt to bring in a new right-back, with former Sunderland defender Darren Williams available following his release from Gateshead. …
