Have Your Say on the RTA's Bridge Options

THE RTA's nominated 'best' route for Grafton's as yet unfunded future bridge, 'Option D', could require the acquisition of about 22 houses.

This and much more will be discussed at today's information sessions at the Grafton Community Centre in Duke Street - the first from 10am till noon and the latter from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Today's sessions are open to all comers but people will have to register (1800 633 332) if they want to take part in next week's community workshops on the options to be held on Thursday, March 11, at 10am and 6.30pm.

The Daily Examiner asked several questions of the RTA yesterday, including how wide the roads would be for each of the proposals and how many houses would need to be purchased for each, but the response did not answer these.

"The Grafton Bridge options currently on display are based on traffic modelling only and are subject to change pending feedback from the current public consultation and through further investigations," the RTA statement said. …
