COMEDIAN Joe Pasquale and Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer are to appear in The Wizard of Oz this Easter in Newcastle.

New World Productions will return to the Journal Tyne Theatre for the fourth year with another Easter extravaganza.

The team, which has previously produced the likes of Peter Pan and The Jungle Book at the venue in recent years, will be bringing the nation's favourite comedian Joe Pasquale to play the Scarecrow and CBBC star Dani Harmer to play Dorothy.

"We're really looking forward to coming back to the Journal Tyne Theatre with this fantastic Easter show," says producer Gary Telfer.

"We know how popular the Christmas pantomimes are in the North East and it's great to have another quality family show during the year.

"I spoke to Joe Pasquale and Dani Harmer, who plays Tracy Beaker, yesterday and they're both very excited to be coming to Newcastle over the Easter Holidays."

New World Productions will be bringing nine action-packed performances of The Wizard of Oz to the theatre from April 7 to 11. …
