'King Kirk' and Yamaha Win Again

NINE-time Queensland Enduro Champion, Yamaha Motor Australia's 'King Kirk' Hutton, again proved his pack-leading speed on Sunday when he made it two wins from two races in 2010 at the opening round of the QLD Enduro-Cross Series held near Kingaroy.

Hutton, 36, piloted his "awesome" YZ450F to victory by more than two minutes over the 250-strong field, which included three-time Australian Off-Road Champion, A.J Roberts. The Kobble Creek resident's win followed an equally impressive first place finish at the first round of the Yamaha Sprint Cross-Country Series last weekend.

"I made a pretty big mistake in the first lap today and fell off uncharacteristically, so I'm pretty sore and sorry.

"But I'm stoked with the rest of the day. I rode smart and won pretty convincingly - I was happy with how I rode.

"The new YZ450F was going awesome, it has that much power on tap everywhere, it's awesome.

"It was a true enduro track today, rocky, bull dusty with lots of logs. It was pretty technical, and wasn't wide open like last weekend. You had to be very careful or you'd go down. …
