Cowboy Kaufusi Still Puts Family First

RUGBY LEAGUE: It is not often you get woken by a phone call from an NRL star on a Saturday morning.

But that is the kind of bloke Antonio Kaufusi is.

The Bundaberg boy was in town for his little sister's wedding and the conversation went something like this.

"Sorry to call you so early Murray," Kaufusi said.

"It's just that I'm in town for my sister's wedding and we were really hoping you could put something in the paper about it - it would mean a lot to my family."

Once I had rubbed my eyes and woken up completely, I told Kaufusi we could probably work something out.

The Cowboys prop has always put his family first, and it seems nothing has changed since he moved north from Melbourne before last season.
