DUNELM Property Services Newcastle Eagles wheelchair basketball team won 56-55 against the Raiders, who are in bottom spot in the RGK Super League.

The first quarter was dominated by Eagles' player/coach and Great Britain international Lee Fawcett at the offensive end, who scored 10 of his seventeen points in this period.

Both teams traded baskets throughout the first quarter - but it was Stuart Pimblett who gave the Eagles a one-point lead by scoring a three-pointer.

In the opening minutes of the second quarter both sides traded baskets.

Pimblett continued where he left off from the first quarter, adding eight points.

Coyne and Mack also contributed six points each for the Eagles.

However, the Raiders' Weeks and Saunders put up stubborn resistance, notching eight and six respectively as the Eagles struggled to keep them out of the paint.

Newcastle finished the half with a 5-0 run. Pimblett scoring all three free-throws after being fouled by Dear on a three-point attempt. …
