DRESSED all in white, she looked like a fairytale bride.

No expense had been spared for her big day at a top Newcastle hotel, and two chauffeur-driven Silver Shadow Rolls Royces were to take her, her bridesmaid and a pageboy there. But it was all a cruel con by serial liar Emma Charlton - also known as Emma Golightly. Today Brian Watson, her chauffeur who took her to the Copthorne Hotel on one of her fake wedding days in 2005.

Charlton booked Cream and Gold Wedding Cars to pick her up the following day in Heaton, Newcastle. They had one day's notice and there was no time to take payment.

"It was all strange from start to finish," said Brian, 70, of Blyth, Northumberland.

"It was a last minute thing. Not the usual arrangement for a wedding. "We knocked on the door but there was no answer. We waited for about 15 minutes and then she appeared from around the corner.

"She was in a beautiful, long, white wedding dress and was wearing a tiara. She looked a lovely bride.

"It was weird because there was no family with her. She was alone in the car with me driving.

"We got to the Copthorne Hotel and before she got out I said that no money had been handed over to the firm and we needed paying.

She said that her fiance would pay and there wasn't a problem "I went into the hotel and sat in reception. I could see her and her guests having champagne being handed out on trays.

"She knew I was there and I said I wasn't leaving until we received our money. I waited and waited and was there for about an hour-anda-half."

Charlton's wedding day was a sham as she was already married to Chris Williams after they met in May 2004. She told him she was suffering from terminal breast cancer and didn't want to die without being a bride.

That marriage soon fell apart and she went on to an internet dating site to meet another unsuspecting man, this time from Ashington. …
