Beatles Tribute Band to Set off Harbour Festival

WHILE the Easter Bunny is busy preparing for Easter, so is Michelle Stafford and her team for Gladstone's Harbour Festival.

With only 15 sleeps until the festivities begin there is plenty of excitement in the air.

"It's shaping up really well and we're looking forward to great festival with fantastic entertainment," Ms Stafford said.

The week-long event began more than 48 years ago as a one-day celebration held to greet the winners of the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race as they crossed the finish line.

Fast-forward to today and the festival now encompasses a huge range of entertainment, big name, acts, a raft race, a battle of the bands and a street parade.

"There really is something for everyone," said Ms Stafford.

Kicking off the festival's entertainment on Sunday night is a performance by the Beatles tribute band, The Beatnix.

Formed 30 years ago, The Beatnix are keeping alive the spirits of John, Paul, George and Ringo. …
