Janette Gets Stuck into Living Good Life

WHEN Janette Nethercott was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2003, she didn't shed a tear - she went into "auto pilot".

"My doctor said some very scary words. Stage three, aggressive and invasive. I didn't cry or yell or anything. I just said to the doctor chop what you have got to chop and give me whatever drugs you need to," she said.

"I just wanted to be well."

Following this diagnosis, Janette had a mastectomy and chemotherapy and is now fit and well.

"I think for me, cancer was a bit of a blessing. I did things I never thought I would and it allowed me to find out what I really wanted out of my life.

"I cut back on work hours; got the dog I had wanted for 30 years and started to get a little more pleasure out of life in general. …
