Bikie to Take Stand Today

Article excerpt

WARWICK Bandidos Motorcycle Club identity Darrell Vincent Cross will take the stand today to defend the charges against him of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and serious assault of a police officer, even though three witnesses have testified they saw him deliberately target the officer.

The 47-year-old's family again supported him from the public gallery of the Brisbane District Court yesterday, with only his female relatives temporarily absent due to an apparent retail therapy trip.

"He was signalled to pull over. He seemed quite agitated, red in the face and angry to be pulled over."

The court heard Cross was repeatedly told to "pull over", finally resting his Fatboy, where he was indicated to Colebrook Avenue to wait for the officers.

"He's revved the engine... turned the corner... struck the police officer where in the struggle he's held on to (Cross') arm... the accused has elbowed the police officer saying, 'get the f--- off me; get the f--- off me," the prosecutor said.

First to take the stand was Oxley District Police Traffic Branch Senior Constable Conrad Greenwood who stated he had received arm, abdomen and groin injuries, which resulted from the altercation with Cross and forced him to take one week off duties. …
