Rainbow Shores Court Time Limit; April 9 Deadline for Reasons

REGISTERED supporters and opponents of the controversial Rainbow Shores Stage Two development proposal at Rainbow Beach have just under a fortnight to lodge additional grounds in support of their views.

Inskip Point camping advocate Reg Lawler has called for the State Government to put its money where its mouth is in opposing the project, by buying back the lease for land involved in the proposal.

Short of that, he said opponents of the proposal want Gympie Regional Council to back up its rejection of the plan by lodging town planning grounds for their decision.

Mr Lawler, of the Citizens Helping Inskip Peninsula group, said CHIP and other parties opposing Rainbow Shores Stage Two have until April 9 to provide grounds additional to those already lodged by the State Government's Department of Environment and Resource Management and the council.

Rainbow Shores also has the opportunity to lodge additional grounds in support of the plan, as does project supporter, the Rainbow Beach Commerce and Tourism Association. …
