THE Lismore Turf Club is set to reap a host of benefits with the announcement that three non-TAB race meetings will be upgraded to TAB status and broadcast on Sky Racing 2 in the coming months.

Increased exposure, better quality fields and more prizemoney will combine to raise the standard of racing at Lismore.

A higher standard of racing generally means more punters through the gates and the added television exposure will also attract the attention of sponsors.

The upgrade comes on the back of racing broadcaster Sky launching its new channel, Sky Racing 2, this Thursday.

Racing NSW Country general manager Scott Kennedy explained that up-to-date technology at the club and chance were to thank for the developments.

"Limore just happened to have a number of non-TAB meetings around launch time," Kennedy said.

"But on top of that, they also have fibre-optic cable installed which means Sky can come and set up at minimal cost. …
