The following is a compilation of reports from Beaches-area police departments:


- A man tried to lure a 4-year-old girl into his gray car about 3:30 p.m. March 22 in the 100 block of Jordan Street.

The girl was playing in the front of her house when the car pulled up and the man asked her to get inside. The girl instead ran inside her home to her mother and yelled, "Stranger, stranger." Police were called but could not find the car or driver.

- A 57-year-old man was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault after his stepson was attacked with a hammer about 5:20 a.m. Sunday at a home in the 100 block of Mayport Road.

The two got into a dispute over water running from a kitchen sink and the older man got a hammer and hit the younger man in the left rib area. The victim's mother tried to break up the fight and the man threatened her with the hammer.

- A car accident destroyed a Jacksonville Transportation Authority bus stop bench about 9:35 p.m. near the northbound lane of Mayport Road at Saratoga Circle.

A 1995 Mercury driven by an 18-year-old woman was heading north on Mayport Road when she lost control, drove off the road, smashed through the bus stop bench and stopped on the north side of Saratoga Circle. Police cited the woman with careless driving. No one was injured.


- A 21-year-old Georgia man was arrested on a weapons charge about 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the fishing pier at 503 First St. N. after an officer saw him sitting in the parking lot with a loaded .40 caliber handgun in his holster.

- A 46-year-old Ponte Vedra Beach woman was arrested on drunken driving and accident charges about 10:30 p.m. Friday after her Mercedes-Benz 500 rear-ended a Suburu stopped at a red light at 13th Avenue and Third Street South. No one was seriously injured.

- A bike was reported stolen Thursday from a garage in the 1000 block of 18th Avenue North.

- A woman reported March 24 that she found pickled pig parts wrapped in faux fur in her mailbox in the 1900 block of Williams Street.

The woman told police she had no idea why someone placed them there. …
