drink, and entertainment will be on the menu next Saturday at the Bishop Auckland Food Festival in the Durham Dales. The event, formerly known as the Wear Valley Food Festival, is being held in the grounds of Auckland Castle on Saturday, April 17, and some 28,000 food lovers are expected to descend.

Presented by Bishop Auckland Town Centre Forum, in partnership with Durham County Council, and sponsored by Bishop Auckland Town Council, this will be the festival's first year with its new title.

There will be a choice of over 100 stalls ranging from Coquet Valley Preserves, and Durham Venison and Game to Proof Of The Pudding's home-made treats, to name a few.

Visitors can see demonstrations from the Co-operative, and chef Mark Earnden will cook in front of the crowds. Visitors can sample food from across the globe at Spice Corner, with Indian food courtesy of Spice Lounge, and exotic ingredients from Spicemonkey while Taste The Caribbean will provide the sunshine with its rum-based sauces. …
