ESTABLISHED: April 2010.

BACKGROUND: Ms Simpson and her three sisters have always struggled to find shoes that fit.

Kathryn takes a size 10-and-a-half, and she has the smallest feet of her siblings.

Just three weeks ago, she took 15 years of experience in hospitality and retail, a diploma of business from TAFE and some savings and used them to open the doors of her very own boutique shoe store catering for women from size 5 to size 14.

"I used to have to wear Doc Martens and men's Converse sneakers in high school," she said.

"My sisters and I got used to driving to Brisbane to get shoes, but the shop closed down.

"I had finished up in retail, I had the finances and it was a case of Cywhat next?'."

Ms Simpson grew up in Nambour and went to the local high school, making the town the obvious choice for her business.

"Mine is a destination business, so it doesn't matter where it is," she said. …
