Fundraiser Seeking Your Help; Book Club Wants Sale to Be Real Page Turner

FRIENDS of the Tweed Library's biggest fundraiser of the year needs the community's help to succeed.

Publicity officer Annette Bishop said the group sought clean books, DVDs and videos for their annual book sale.

"In the past when we advertised we used to get a lot of dirty books so now we request clean items," she said.

"We get a lot of variety in the types of books and they are categorised on the day.

"Toni Cameron and Brian Deane are not members of the group but help out every year to divide the books into genres and set up massive stalls around the hall.

"The book sale is the biggest money raiser and we have bought a lot of things for the library."

Ms Bishop said the group had bought cameras, computers, TVs as well as mobiles for the children's corner.

"The library tells us what it needs or wants at our monthly meetings and we then make decisions about what we are going to buy," she said. …
