CAREY Brothers Meats paid the highest price at the prime cattle sale at the Warwick Show on Saturday.

The family firm paid $2.50 per kilogram, well above market value, for the champion vealer or yearling of the show which was exhibited by Ian and Ann Coy, of Swan Creek.

Lyon Street Butchery paid $2.25 for the grand champion beast exhibited by Warren Stiff, of Bony Mountain.

Prime cattle results: Class 1 Single steer 465kg and over - 1 Risdon Park Feedlot, 2 WR and W Fagg, 3 Ellis and Hearn.

Class 2 Pen of three steers 465kg and over - 1 WR and W Fagg, 2 Risdon Park Feedlot.

Class 3 Single steer or heifer 375kg to 460kg - 1 WA and N Gross, 2 Warren Stiff, 3 Robyn Middleton.

Class 4 Pen of three steers or heifers 375kg to 460kg - 1 Warren Stiff, 2 WA and N Gross.

Class 5 Single vealer or yearling 305kg to 370kg - 1 IC and HA Coy, 2 IC and HA Coy, 3 Warren Berghofer.
