The following is a compilation of reports from Beaches-area police departments:


- A 30-year-old bicyclist was cited for running a stop sign following a collision with a 1997 Buick about 6:50 p.m. Thursday at Ahern Street at East Coast Drive.

The man rode into the path of the Buick and was thrown to the ground. He was not injured.

- A 49-year-old man was arrested and charged with battery following a dispute over soda about 4:35 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of Donner Road.

The attacker started to hit and choke his roommate after he had sat down on a couch with a soda.


- A 28-year-old Jacksonville Beach man was arrested shortly after midnight Sunday on a charge of carrying a concealed firearm following a complaint about a loud party in the 100 block of Second Street South.

Police found a Walther P22 handgun in the man's waistband and 60 grams of cocaine and a marijuana joint.

- A man was flown to Shands Jacksonville hospital about 9 p.m. Saturday after he dove into a swimming pool in the 1500 block of Sunset Drive and was knocked unconscious. The man, who had been drinking, hit his head on the bottom of the pool. A scan showed the man broke his neck.

- A 47-year-old Jacksonville woman was arrested on a fraud charge Friday after she stole a co-worker's identity and used it to open a Walmart credit card.

The woman, who worked at South Beach Tax Service, used the credit card for several months before the victim received a late payment notice in February at the office and contacted police.

- A 55-year-old Jacksonville man was arrested about 7 p.m. Saturday on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 200 block of Third Street South.

The man, who was driving with a suspended driver's license, had moved to the area from Massachusetts and had never registered his address.

- Someone entered an unlocked car Friday in the 1600 block of Sixth Avenue North and stole a GPS computerized dashboard mapping system.

A wallet was also reported stolen Friday from an unlocked car in the 3300 block of Zephyr Way North. …
