CHRIS Harvey and his sweetheart, Opal Murphy-Moore, were looking forward to their wedding next year.

The Corindi Beach couple had planned to either travel overseas to tie the knot or have a simple ceremony at home.

But their dreams were destroyed on Monday when Chris, 28, and his best mate, 29-year-old Damian Gibb from Toormina, died on the Pacific Highway at Urunga.

The boys and Damian's partner were heading to Oyster Creek to visit Chris's mum when they hit an oncoming car. Damian's partner was badly injured in the smash.

Opal, 18, said Chris had been 'my everything' and a doting father to their six-month-old, Saxon, and to Chris's other son, Spencer, aged 2.

"He was the best," Opal told the Coffs Coast Advocate.

"We met through friends two years ago and from that minute we have never been apart.

"He was compassionate towards everybody, easy-going and loved everything and everyone.

"He had a really kind nature and he loved animals and being outdoors. …
