AMERICAN FOOTBALL Dundee ................ 20 Gateshead ........... 28 GATESHEAD Senators blew away the Hurricanes in Dundee at the weekend and made it two wins out of two in the new campaign.

Senators sealed the game 28-20, but it was the home side who opened the scoring with a two-yard touchdown run. They then tagged on the two-point conversion.

Gateshead responded by capitalising on good field position with a 15-yard touchdown from Ben Foster and converted the extra point making it 8-7. The home side's next drive was cut short with a Gateshead interception.

Unfortunately, they were unable to make good use of this and Dundee got the ball back and soon stretched their lead after a long drive with a quarterback sneak to go up 14-7. The Senators' offence then got into a rhythm and began to drive the ball with a good mix of run and pass led by quarterback Lee Fraser. Running back Gavin Barr then gave Senators the lead with an elusive 30-yard run, shaking off many would-be tacklers. …
