T-YOU; RANTS & RAVES Cyclists on Bridge Scare Walkers on Sidewalks

Article excerpt

My rant is to the inconsiderate cyclists who ride on the sidewalk over the new bridge that spans the intracoastal on Beach Boulevard. I can't tell you [how] scary it is to have a bike coasting downhill at 40 mph blow by you on a 4[-foot] wide sidewalk. It is especially scary when they come up from behind you. The (not) funny thing is that bridge planners built a bike path that is approximately 10 feet wide. I walk the bridge three or four times a week and rare is the time I do not see a cyclist going over the bridge using the sidewalk.

There is one point that these progressives never fail to bring up and that is that people who disagree with the president must be racists, they must be angry because a black man is in the White House. People: stop this! It weakens your stand to use this as political discourse.

Charlie vetoed the education bill strictly for the votes of the teachers and their families. He couldn't care less whether it was a good or bad bill. He is a politician. When I compare his record and views with Marco Rubio, I'll take Rubio any day. My vote will cancel your vote.

STREET SWEEPING QUESTION

Why does the city of Jacksonville send the street sweepers into a neighborhood on the same day that the trash and recycle bins are out on the street curb? The area looks worse, not better, for the effort.

GLAD TO SEE TEBOW GO

Can't a person in this town peacefully watch a television show without having Tim Tebow interrupt it? …
