BUNDABERG has certainly turned on perfect weather so far for its fortnight of top tennis, although it did not look promising yesterday morning.

Neither of the singles winners of last week's Wide Bay Australia Bundaberg Open is in the main draw of the Bundaberg Regional Council sponsored Bundaberg International.

Rachael Tredoux, a delightfully surprised winner of the AMT, did not enter the event while Alan Poric failed to qualify.

Brydan Klein, the top seed, defeated the unseeded Jason Kubler 6-3, 6-4 in the final of the City of Ipswich International last Sunday.

Kubler has an early opportunity to reverse this result as he is drawn to play Klein in the second round of the Bundaberg International, presuming both players win their first round matches.

Sally Peers, the third seed in Ipswich, defeated Sophie Letcher 6-4, 6-3 in the final.

Letcher would have to be playing extremely well to settle the score with Peers (4) in Bundaberg as she is drawn to play the top seed Yurika Sema, of Japan, in the second round. …
