ROWING: A 93-strong Shalom College rowing contingent will hit Bucca with a force never felt before at the 2010 Head of the River this weekend.

The long-time dominators of the title look set to continue on their merry way, led by new rowing captains Elisha Silcox and Liam Clancy. The pair have been involved in the program since Year 7 and are keen to play their part in the school's rowing history.

"We're both really excited to get out there," Silcox said.

"Our job is to hype everyone up, get as many participating and really emphasise the teamwork."

Both rowers will compete in five events, while the Year 8s a[pounds sterling] coached by the likes of Silcox and Clancy a[pounds sterling] are out to wreak havoc in their first time at the regatta.

"We've got 19 Year 8 boys alone, more than ever before," Shalom rowing co-ordinator Janet Brennan said.

"It's all about teamwork, leadership and the friendship that comes out of it. That's what we are all about. …
