Slow Start No Problem; NYU Can Still Make Top Four, Says Assistant Coach

NYU assistant coach Dustin Slypen was confident his side's slow start to the season would not stop it from finishing in the McDonald's Premier League top four.

Last year's preliminary finalists have faced a tough draw in the opening month of competition but are sitting in eighth position.

They face another hard task in Buderim at Ballinger Park tomorrow night and will have to find a new avenue to goal with striker Sam Bennett out of action for a few weeks as he is overseas.

Bennett has scored seven of NYU's 11 goals in five matches and Slypen identified his attack as an area that needed to stand up against the always strong Wanderers.

"Without him we're going to have to find another avenue to the net,a Slypen said.

"He's already put seven in this year, so we're going to miss him.

"We've created a lot of chances in the first five rounds but need to put them away. …
