Nobody's Wife Will Be Coming out to World Cup. except Mine, Says Fabio

FABIO CAPELLO may have banned Wags at the World Cup but a certain Mrs Capello has sneaked onto the team sheet, the Standard reveals today.

The England manager, fearing they may prove a distraction, made it clear that wives and girlfriends are not welcome in South Africa during the tournament.

His ruling prompted Coleen Rooney and Steven Gerrard's wife Alex Curran to say they will cancel their plans and stay at home.

However, it appears there is one rule for the troops and another for the general as Capello's wife Laura Ghisi and their son Pierfilippo, have confirmed they will be making the trip.

Pierfilippo, who is his father's lawyer and adviser, said they will be travelling from Italy to be present for the last two group games.

He said: "We will see the football and have a look around. She isn't really into football but it's a chance to have a look around the country, although I'm not sure where we will be staying as my father has laid down the law on wives and girlfriends. …
