I'M Scottish born, and I played my international football for the Republic of Ireland.

But I'll be shouting for England in the World Cup.

My two lads wouldn't allow me to do anything different.

They're both big England fans, particularly the 16-year-old. But then they were both born in the Boro, so it's only natural.

I went up to Glasgow recently and while I was there I bought the eldest lad an England strip.

The guy in the sports shop looked at me as if I was mad. But when I got back the lads had decorated the whole house in England colours, and so the strip was gratefully received.

My lads will be watching every ball kicked in the World Cup and screaming on England to win it.

They'll also stand when the national anthem is played and sing their hearts out.

When I was in Glasgow someone would have thrown the TV out of the window if I had stood and sung just before an England match. …
