THERE are two shows at Stockton's ARC next week. In the youth performance of SCHOOL OF HORRORS on Saturday, June 19, is the new teacher a bit odd or, as some of the children suspect, is she a witch? Tickets pounds 6. Earlier in the day there's a show for all the family with OLD MOTHER HUBBARD at 11am or 2.30pm.

A dotty old woman takes you on a nursery rhyme journey as she clatters about in her kitchen and her dancing dog sniffs out trouble in the most unlikely places. Tickets pounds 6, family ticket (four people) pounds 20.

SOAP star Roberta Kerr will be in Saltburn next week to star in comedy ELSIE & NORM'S MacBETH.

Roberta starred as Jan Glover in Emmerdale for four years, but has also appeared in Coronation Street, Brookside and The Archers.

The show at Saltburn Community Theatre on Thursday features Elsie and Norm who are fed up with playing Trivial Pursuit and watching Dynasty so decide to have a bash at a bit of culture by staging a production of Macbeth in their living room.

After a spot of judicious re-writing by Norm - fresh from his literary endeavours for the Pigeon Breeders' Gazette - to make it snappier and more punchy, and undaunted by the large cast, Elsie and Norm set out to play all the characters between them. Well, all the characters that is except for Banquo (which is played by a large toy panda in a kilt) and his son Fleance (played by a smaller toy panda in a kilt).

There's also the chance for a member of the audience to star in the show as a male cameo role is up for grabs. All interested parties simply put their name in a hat on the night and wait for Elsie and Norm to draw the name at the end of act one. This five minute appearance will take place at the end of act two. …
