Luis Puts on Fab Display for Brazil

LUIS FABIANO was the man of the moment for Brazil last night when his brace helped sink the Ivory Coast at Soccer City and his coach Dunga was happy that the faith shown in the striker had finally paid off.

The Sevilla forward was named man of the match after his double and an Elano goal sent Brazil on their way to a 3-1 win.

They were his first goals for his country in 2010 after going five matches without scoring and helped Brazil take full charge of Group G with six points from their two games.

"Luis Fabiano had a great performance," Dunga said. "I placed a lot of trust in him, as did all his team-mates.

"Of course he hadn't scored in the last five matches. He's always responded in a very positive way and obviously if a forward doesn't score for a while he becomes impatient.

"We had to try and remove this anxiety. All our technical team worked on that and we knew that the moment would arrive for Luis Fabiano and he would score. So we are really pleased for him. …
