MANY of you will be delighted to read that even lawyers haven't been immune to the ravages of the latest recession but, looking ahead, I think all of us with a vested interest in the North East's economic performance have reasons to be cheerful.
SME businesses usually find themselves at the sharp end of any economic downturn. However, over the last six months, we have seen a definite increase in activity from our SME clients, with expansions, takeovers and plans for growth.
A number of sectors seem to be performing well, including the "green" sector and many technology businesses.
Crutes is lucky to work alongside such businesses and to assist them with their growth and development plans. Whilst I wouldn't seek to claim that the North East economy is fully out of the woods, there are grounds for optimism.
