NEWCASTLE UNITED will face trial by TV as they make their return to the Premier League with their first two games to beamed out live to the nation.

United's opener at Manchester United on the opening game of the season will now take place on Monday, August 16, with an 8pm kick-off on Sky Sports.

And the announcement of the televised games for the first four months of the season also reveals that United's first home game against Aston Villa is being shown on ESPN on Sunday, August 22 with a 1.30pm start.

United will also travel to Manchester City on October 3 for a Sunday lunchtime clash at Eastlands with another 1.30pm kick-off, again courtesy of ESPN.

And the first Tyne-Wear derby has also been selected for live coverage.

Sunderland's visit to St James' Park will now kick-off at 4pm on Sunday, October 31.

The Sky cameras will first come to St James' on Sunday, September 26 for the visit of Stoke City, while the games at West Ham, Arsenal and at home to Chelsea have also been selected. …
