A VERY special Teesside garden has been selected to open to the public for England's National Gardens Scheme this year.

The beautiful grounds of Tudor Croft, on Stokesley Road, Guisborough, will be open on Sunday from noon to 5pm on behalf of a number of charities.

Owner Mike Heagney said: "The NGS, known as the Yellow Book, is very prestigious, with high standards and, in other parts of the country, top gardeners compete for acceptance.

"However, they have approached us this year, which is a great compliment and we are delighted to open for them.

"I hope that more Teesside gardens will be accepted in the future."

The NGS fundraising benefits Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Help the Hospices, Cross Roads Care and other charities.

Tudor Croft, a private garden which is usually open just one day a year, is a great local favourite and a must to visit for gardening enthusiasts, or the general public. …
