Who is the idiot that waived the 25 [percent] stake the city of Jacksonville [that's us folks] had in this deal [Jaguars stadium naming rights]? Oooops! It's Mister Poor Judgment himself, Jack Webb, city council president. If it involves [cheating] the residents of Jacksonville, Webb will have his dirty hands right in the middle. And for dessert, he most certainly will go against our wishes and vote for an increase in property taxes.

I just read where the Jacksonville City Council is slated to give [Jacksonville University] and [the University of North Florida] a little over $90,000 to study the condition of the St. Johns river. It's dirty! $90,000 saved.

I am disgusted by the huge spending by rich candidates running for statewide office. [Jeff] Greene and [Rick] Scott seem determined to buy their offices with massive campaign spending. Both of these opportunists are likely to win their nominations, although to be fair, their opponents are not much of an improvement. McCollum hasn't lifted a finger to help working people. [Kendrick] Meek was given a congressional seat by his ethically challenged mother for a birthday present. [Maurice] Ferre is the forgotten man in Democratic Senate race. Despite good ideas and a wealth of experience as a former legislator and Miami mayor, Ferre has been blacked out by the media. ... Of course, it all comes down to big money equaling power and why democracy is for sale.
