A MAN who broke into a Bundaberg home to steal electrical fuses faced Bundaberg District Court yesterday.

Beau Daniel Jones, 21, of Beaudesert, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted burglary and one count of stealing.

The court heard that on August 31, 2009, Jones and a co-offender went to a home during the night where they attempted to pull a screen door off the dwelling to gain entry.

The pair then used a plank of wood as a battering ram against the door which also failed.

Crown prosecutor Greg Cummings told the court the men stole electrical fuses from the home when they finally gained entry.

The defendant's co-offender was sentenced to six months imprisonment, a fate the prosecutor did not submit for Jones.

"He has no criminal history," Mr Cummings said of the defendant.

"The offence was an example of sheer stupidity."

The prosecution submitted a community based order to give the defendant "necessary supervision". …
