Flexible Clubs Key to Slick Season

THE weather has been playing havoc with Football Far North Coast fixtures with all last week's games being washed out in first division while most other divisions faired the same.

Some clubs have three catch-up games while many others have two and with only six or seven rounds remaining, and the weather looking as though more rain is coming, the association has got themselves into a situation where they are running out of time to play these matches. I know you can't stop the weather but many clubs need to take a good look at themselves at the start of the season.

Clubs need to be flexible with changing their matches where possible so they don't end up having to play Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday for two or three weeks in a row.

This is not good for the players' body and sooner or later it will take its toll and we'll end up with lots of injuries and maybe having to forfeit matches due to lack of numbers.

Clubs need to take some responsibility for the situation we have now. …
